Motivational Session

On July 9th, 2020 two USAID projects in Turkmenistan – USAID’s Future Growth Initiative (FGI) and USAID Enriching Youth for Tomorrow (EYFT), jointly with the Union of Economists, conducted an Introductory/Motivational Session (with Q&A) for about 100 residents of the Start-up Ecosystem (SE) Program. The SE program was built around six business consulting, training and staff recruitment companies, which aspire to run start-up acceleration programs in Turkmenistan on regular and sustainable basis. Led by Zhenya Rozinskiy and Max Gurvits, both with over ten years of experience in building and developing start-up ecosystem in western and east-European markets, the Introductory/Motivational session covered such issues as the fast-paced journey of incubation and acceleration, the stages that a start-up founder and the start-up product go through, and recommendations on how to make the best of the opportunity to be a part of a start-up incubation/acceleration program. This and other general sessions complement six mentor companies’ individual training and acceleration programs, which have commenced last week and will run until September. Twelve start-up teams with highest market potential will be selected for the Demo Day at the end of the program to identify the winners. Almost 100 participants of the first massive start-up accelerator program in the country were able to learn the concepts of start-ups, start-up ecosystems and accelerators. Further stronger partnerships with the most progressive of the participating six mentoring companies will lead to bettering conditions for the development of youth entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs for the youth
